Any reason that it is hollow instead of solid? Is there a benefit to either?

      Hey Tony.

Most of a sway bar's action comes from the outside diameter. Using hollow tubing in the case of this bar saves weight and cost without sacrificing much sway bar rate. As we go up in size and bend complexity, the ability to bend a bar properly shifts to solid and the price flip-flops to solid being less expensive.

In the case of a rear bar like a drag anti-roll bar, we heat treat 1.250" diameter solid because that particular application can use the huge rates and needs the additional strength.
