Stolen car!!!

A good friend of mine had his car stolen from infront of his apartment in Jonesboro, AR Monday night. It's pretty loud and would've woke him up if it would have been started. He noticed the car gone when he got ready to go to work. It's a 1984 Cutlass, gray with a black hood, carbed 6ltr, 9", nitrous, all kinds of good parts. No inner fenders, no heat/ac box, but still stock pillow topped seats inside. There were also two others stolen that same day/night, a 97 chevy pickup and a motorcycle. Update: car was supposedly seen in Marion, AR at a gas station at 4am on Tuesday. Car was also with a maroon car, and a green bike.

Thanks, we do too! Still waiting on Marion PD to retrieve and look at the video footage at the gas station. Said they were way behind and would be next week (this coming week). So hopefully he either paid with a card, or came in and we have a good picture of his face. Still need to make sure it was the cutlass though. Get a lot of sightings that endup not being the car.

Found this morning... Guess they didn't have time to take the last good wheel or the steering wheel. Dash, fuel lines, tank is all gone. They did however put the rusty rearend out of their g-body back under it. How considerate..

looks like someone got abit pissed they lost a race to the car! sucks to see this. after all the hard work it takes (and money) to have someone steal it and trash on it makes it nearly justifiable homocide to the mofo!! hope your buddy has it covered under the correct policy to replace aftermarket parts!

Yea, I agree. He use to take it to the track in Memphis a lot. Of course you can get a lot of information just from a short conversation. I'm sure they found out where he lived and everything. And he just had liability, so total loss. Just got the car close to lined out. Was running bottom 6's and bottom 10's 1/4. Another kicker is Memphis pd called him and asked if he wanted them to do the investigation. He said yes, so they proceded to tell him he owed the $145 tow bill and so many days impound fees. He said just scrap the car for the fees. They told him yea, most people do that... That's lovely..

Even scumbag car thieves have protocol. For example the car was stolen at a particular time. Devote some time and energy into finding the bad guys by figuring out their basic strategy. Be sure to call the cops when you find them. It won't be that difficult, despite some lost sleep.

I remember at the last Year One, we were all on high alert because Bret's Camaro had been robbed the prior year. So we're all hanging out in the parking lot of the hotel and a built SN95 Mustang rolls into one end of the lot, cruises through, and rolls out the other end. It was so obvious! The car thief was a hot rodder. Parts thieves stick out like a sore thumbs.

We reorganized our cars in such a way that many cars would need to be moved to grab one and then blocked in the whole mess with duallies and pickups.

oooph. This is just reinforcement to not be cheap any time I change my insurance.
Gotta go declared value and have aftermarket parts coverage. I'm seriously nervous as I'm soon to be moving to a much higher crime area ( from the sticks to the city).

I've heard horror stories about thieves hitting the strips in memphis to scout for cars to trip off. A buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen to him outside of memphis.

Cops finally busted the "ring " about 2 years after it happened. One guy would boost the car, they'd strip the high dollar stuff off of it then ditch it. His partner would then wait about a month, go knock on the owner's door and offer to buy the shell. Then they'd build the car back up with the parts that they boosted, ship it to AZ and list it for sale on craigs list.
