Black door handles on a first gen camaro?

I was thinking about how repro chrome handles usually go south quickly, so instead could you powdercoat the door handles black? My main concern would be the push button; do you think the powdercoat would wear off quickly due to daily use, or would it be better to leave the button chrome?

I just powder coated my 66 chevelle handles. I played with them some and it appears that the bottom side of the button will wear off soonish but that part is not easily seen so I do not see it as a big deal.

The top does not seem to contact under regular use and overall they look great. So if someone is examining the bottom side of my door handle buttons I will just politely ask them to stand back up and move away from the car
