      Hello everyone....

I'm Jay. I'm a 37y/o married, fat guy from NC. I like 80's-90's cars. I currently don't own a project car, but I'm looking for one. I figured it would be rude not to introduce myself before I started asking questions, so Hi. I sold my 4x4 truck and my jeep. I have that cash to put into a new pro-touring project. I don't know if I want a mullet wagon( F body), a hood ride (G body), a Vanilla Ice dream machine, or something off the wall. We'll see what I find. I would like to stay 2000.00 or less for the starting purchase. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks for having me,

      Jay

Welcome to the site! That's the good news..
The bad news: hanging out on this site just increased your appetite for more budget.

Hey Jay! I am also a married fat guy I'm glad to see you here! Do you have kids yet, if so do you plan to take small or long road trips in your future toy? Do you have a total budget or build in mind yet? What part of NC are you in?

Anyway, glad to see you here!

      Hey Rich,

No kids yet, but the wife and I do love road trips. Last year, we drove my 05 rubicon from western NC all the way to Moab. It was a blast. I've been reading about some of the events held by this site and hope to join in on alot of that fun. Not total budget yet, but as I sell more 4x4 stuff the budget grows.

Thanks Rich, Dave, and Kevin for the warm welcome!

      Jay

      Jay,

Well being a family man myself with two kids I suggest something with a little room. I personally think that you cant go wrong with a 78-88 GM G-Body (Regal, Monte, Cutlass, Gran Prix, or their Wagons versions.) Another bargain body is the 82-94 S-Series 2WD Blazers(hard to find in some states), but great engine swap with lots of room. The 91-96 GM B-Body (Impala, Roadmaster, etc.) or Ford Crown Victoria's, Mercury Grand Marquis (check out the Mercury Marauders!)

The key to a great family road trip is comfort, room AND Performance!
