      Gas gauge connection. Help!! AJ's1Luv

I have a 68 camaro stock interior with center console. I torn out old carpet to replace and insulate. This turned into almost a year long project. So, now I'm putting back together everything's great! Until I start putting my center console in. I have auto meters gauges(mechanical). The problem I'm having, is with my fuel gauge. I don't know how to find the sending unit wire. I assuming it comes from the rear of the trunk in the factory wiring harness? So, it would go the the fuse box, and come from the fuse box and go the center console wiring harness? And that's where I'm at right now! It's been apart so long and I don't remember. I didn't wire this in, so I don't know what or how it was done. also, I don't know wiring color codes.

On the stock and AAW harness the gas gauge wire is tan. You can verify the color by looking at the wire coming up in the trunk floor, just under the fill tube. I hope this helps.

OH... it should not be coming from the fuse box.

I'm no expert but willing to try to help. It looks like the fuel sender wire from the rear of the car is an 18 Gauge tan wire. It runs from the sender into a connector that is also shared with the connection to the license plate lamp. The 18 tan wire runs forward with the rest of the rear compartment wiring to the connector that connects to the main harness (between a 20 light green and a 20 dark green). Hope that gets you what you need? If not, ask for more.
