      Air Force Newbie - Hi

I know, another newbie. Been planning my pro-touring rebuild of my 1972 Chevelle for 8 years, and I think I am finally less then a year from getting underway. I think the technology and prices of "stuff" is in the sweet spot right now, plus, I plan to come back stateside from overseas next May - hopefully back to California, so the time is now. I plan on posting a few threads hoping for a few hits, questions I have had in my brain for quite some time.
Looking on modifying my car with a Hotrods to hell truckarm suspension, Global West up front, LS1 (LQ4) stroked to 402 cubes with an SLP kit, TKO-600 5-speed Tranny, 9-inch rear end (or 12-bolt), BMW leather buckets and a few coats of Yellow paint with black stripes. Wish me luck.

Welcome to the site, TJR. I'm not sure how much coin you're looking at for the stroked LQ4, but you might save some weight, and cash, with the SDPC 402 LS2 short block, as the basis for your stroker. It's $4k if I remember correctly.

      Another Newbie

Yea, the LS1 bug bit me about 3 months ago, and I have not worked out all the details. I know SLP sells the short blocks for about 3.8K, and the rotating assy for about 1K. If I can find a good engine, I can put the new rotating assy in under my budget. It is either that, or just break down and get the ZZ502.
I forgot to include pictures of my junk heap. I definately have my work cut out for me. My only saving grace is that it is a lifetime California car, is rust free, and still starts and runs. Pics are too large to upload - maybe next time.
