Pi Digital Dash Questions

I'm looking for a compact way to display all critical vehicle data in the best way possible. Before purchasing one of these units I was curious about how they are to install will it be able to use any commonly available sensor for things like oil/water temp, oil pressure and whatever else could be displayed. I'd be interested to hear a comparison in other "dashes" of this type or experiences with these.
