need some help from the suspension gurus!!

so I need some suspension education. I got a 86 monte ss it pretty much is bone stock appearing
i dont want really low maybe an inch at the most. but more than any thing i want to stiffen it up a little so it will handle better.
I converted it to a big block and am having a hard time finding off the shelf springs.. How do I deter-man the right setup for my front end?? will i have to do somthing like install spring helpers so my exhaust dosent drag the ground? and just deal with it? dont have alot of money to spend on it so any suggestions would work

ridetech has a great spring rate calculator that will also work for non coilover springs.

You need to know the amount of travel you want and the corner weight. As well as spring length at ride height.

We have been having good luck with QA1's Pro Coil system. The adjustability allows you to miss the spring rate by a few pounds with no penalty.

We can do these handling kits with QA1's up front instead of the standard Eibach kits.

And Ray and Bryce of course know the key to hitting a standard spring perfectly. Just don't take that super nice car to an oval track shop to get it weighed or it might get highjacked. That thing is sweet.

Or you can just bring it to a Good Guys show on "Super Sunday" (when they let in the "newer" cars) and we'll weigh it for you and tell you the spring rate you should run.
