ok lets see what your project was BEFORE

i see everyones beautiful bad ass cars here, and i was just wondering, what did they look like before?
dirtpoor and i just started on my 70 rs, and its gnarly, to say the least.

so lets see the beasts before they became the beauties. horror storys/hidden nightmares, lets see the dirt. i will post some pics of mine as soon as i get my cardomain setup started.hopefully this weekend.

i love to look at the books at car shows that show the work involved, so lets have them.

pain is nothing compared to the emptiness that comes from quitting.

Where we started in 2001 (or more accurately, how bad it had gotten after driving the living crap out if it daily for 6 years and then letting it sit outside in Tampa for 6 more years ) :

Currently (and still not done 4 years later... ):

      My pictures look backwards!

My before picture was during the time my Chevelle was my primary transportation. The after is current as of today actually. I'm working on a AFTER AFTER when its drivable again.
      EDIT:(2 THINGS)

1 - sorry the bitmap doesnt show a thumbnail, Im not crafty enough to fix it.

2 - I had to white out part of the picture due to content of a "frank and mature nature." :P

      Wow!

AT least I now know I am not the only one that starts with a pile

I don't have much to show, the trailer dumped it into my tiny one car garage so I couldn't back up far enough to get any side shots

      Here are my before photos..

OH this will be an awesome thread. These are my favorite kind of pics when you see what people did before and after. I have a few pics.
SOme of these pics still arent updated yet like the interior. Now I have 5" Autometer gauges stuffed into the original dash cluster. Also clear tail lights.

Those will do for now. Remember, some of these still arent updated all the way yet.

I was lucky, I actually started with a very solid rust free car. I have yet to do any body work or painting on it in the 15 years I've had it. The paint job is around 25 years old. Except for adding buckets and a floor shifter, it has the original interior right down to the carpet and even the cardboard rear package tray. Still sports the factory bumpers, emblems and trim, even the weatherstripping. Apparently the original owner kept it garaged all its life, although he lived down a dirt road and the car was covered with red mud when my dad and I picked it up, back when I was 15. If the guy had just washed and detailed the car he could have sold it for twice what he did. After a good detailing and replacing a few worn out parts, I took it to local car shows when I was in high school.

I=Except for the wheels and stance it still looks the same now, but there's not a single mechanical piece on the car that is still original

See my sig picture, that's how I got it. It's solid, maybe one tiny spot of rust and it's not going anywhere. The chrome and trim all need to be redone or replaced but that'll come in time.

The body work is coming along farther every day. I am waiting on the full trunk floor to come off of backorder and then I will be able to really put it together
