      LS1/LS6 Valve Covers

Anyone know a manufacturer of "faux" valve covers for LS1/LS6 engines? I want my engine to look more "GenI", perhaps there is a valve cover that only covers the coils for that classic look. Okay, there would be wires coming out the sides of the valve covers, so it would not look totally authentic. I would do it anyway. Any takers?

Can you get long wires for those things? If you can, why don't you just mount the coils in the cabin and run the wires through the firewall, roughly where a SBC distributor would be?

You're not going to find a set of valve covers that cover the coils. It would take two different compartments, and a whole lot of work. Besides, do you really want 5" tall valve covers???

It will be difficult to make them look like Gen 1 covers since there are four centerbolts that hold the covers on, and Gen 1 covers have four outer bolts holding them on. On my '69, I just hid the coil packs on the backside of the heads with some custom brackets and most people were clueless at what kind of engine they were looking at.
