Do I need to use the coil spring isolators with Speed Tech LCAs?

So I'd like to drop the front about 1/2" without cutting the springs if possible. The ST lowers use a urethane spacer in the flat pocket which seems to conform to the spring angle (no pics, as the car is still together).

Do I need this isolator? How much of a drop will it make?

I'm thinking if I can take it out, I would just spray a film of PlastiKote in the lower pocket so it's not a metal to metal contact.

You need to take out 1/4" at the spring to drop the car 1/2".

There should be enough meat on the isolator to "trim" it and not eliminate it.
