      12 bolt question

Can you put 3.73's in a 3.08 12 bolt or do they have different size carriers like 10 bolts?
      Thanks
      Scott

Yes 3.73's will fit onto a three series carrier.

There are also some other gear sets available to fit the 'three series carrier' and they include:

      3.08 oe and aftermarket
      3.23 oe
      3.31 oe
      3.42 oe and aftermarket
      3.55 oe and aftermarket
      3.73 oe and aftermarket
      3.90 aftermarket
      4.10** aftermarket
      4.56** aftermarket
      4.88** aftermarket

** available for use without a spacer, aka a 'thick gear set'.

Nice! Thanks for the info. The same guy that offers the 12 bolt says he has a versaille posi 9" with disc breaks and 3.70's for the same price. Do you know if that would bolt in or would it need work. I can't believe the help I'm already getting on this site!

      Ford 9"

Scott, you want to double-check the overall width compared to the 12-bolt since that can heavily influence your choice of wheel. Yes you can bolt it up BUT-you will need to swap spring perches/shock mounts onto the 9" and check with Spicer for a u-joint for use on the 9" pinion to your driveshaft. The only trouble area might be with the e-brake cables-that might be tough, not sure. Hope this helps a little. -Jabin

Hey, nevermind about the e-brake problem. In fact don't even use those. TSM and others offer pinion mounted e-brake kits which are SWEET! Lokar offers them, too. Later, Jabin

Thanks for the info! That makes my decision even more difficult.
