      1994 4l60e with a 5.3 swap?

Hi, im planning on swapping a 5.3L into my 94 Chevy 1500 that originally came with a 4.3L. I already have a complete wiring harness and some other parts from a 99 Chevy truck that had a 5.3.

i found this website that shows what wires i need to make the engine run on its own. i was wondering if anybody knew if this will work good.

But my real question is i want to keep the 4l60e that i have in the truck now that was originally behind the 4.3L. since it was replaced not to long before the 4.3 went out. and i was wondering how i could make this work. i know the transmissions changed after 94 and i might need the flexplate spacer im mostly worried about the wiring can i hook it up to the harness i bought? If not can i modify it to make it work or do i have to buy different transmission? I don't have enough money to buy a stand alone computer and that wouldn't make sense since they are sooo expensive i could buy a 99 4l60e for the same price. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

It is not a direct bolt up to your trans. You will need a different flex plate & spacer. I am not sure on the wiring if the plugs are the same & if the 99 computer will run the older 4l60E. Since your trans came from V6, I would go with a 99-up V8 truck trans. The V6 trans will likely not last behind the 5.3. Add the cost of making the 94 trans work & the headache of possibly issues with wiring, and you will be ahead of the game if you sell your V6 trans and buy the correct trans. Just my opinion. Scott

LT1swap.com is a good source for wiring diagrams, program and info.As posted above you will be further ahead ditching that 94 4L60E,the electronics are not compatible, however it would work physically with the correct flexplate/spacer combo.I swapped a 6.0 into my 98 4x4,
nothing terribly difficult about it,but it is a lot of work and not inexpensive, but what an improvement over that weak suck 5.7 Vortec!

The internals are slightly different. From what I've found most of the wiring crosses over, there are one or two that do not and some how aren't necessary. There were a handful of S10 guys I know that have done it. Sometime soon i'm going to convert my 94 OBD1 over to a 2 system using syty parts and a 0411 PCM. I wish I could find the link i had for you.

Wow, old thread. Sorry for the bump. Was looking for similar info.
