      wheel combo 17/18?

I need a little push, I'm on the fence about my wheel size for my first gen camaro. I have always planned on the 17's front 18"s rear. But I'm second guessing my self if this will give me the stance I want. Or would 18"s front and rear be a better way to go. Is anyone running this 17/18 combo on their first gen? Global west suspension 2"lower front
1" 1/2 drop in the rear. Any thoughts?

      wheel combo 17/18?

18's all around look badasssssss. After Jon from NewGen took my money and ran, I finally went the good route and ordered 18" Rushforth black widows. They get here soon.

      Thanks,
Im going with Boze wheels Just haven't picked the one yet. Just when I think I have made up my mind on a wheel, I see a different wheel I like and Im back to square one. Very sweet car you have Steve are those the injected wheel from Boze? Did you mini tub if not what did you go with for a back space? I didn't tub my car, as I said just lowered it a bit.

You are correct, those are Boze "injected" wheels...I did not tub the car, but the rear lips are rolled, and the rear backspace is 5.75"....

Good luck with you're wheel search....I can tell you that selecting wheels was the hardest part for me...Just for the reasons you mentioned....too many choices and too much $$$...When you find the wheel you want, you'll know....

Wow, your car looks awesome! What size tires are you running? What finish do you have on your wheels?

Wheel diameter staggers look better on the '69 bodies than the 67-68's IMO, but I think it's pretty hard to go wrong with 18's all the way around on a first-gen, as pretty well shown above.

I have never regretted my decision on staggered wheels. I favor the appearance when side wall height in tires are equal front to back, and too many times i see 18's up front with skinny side walls that don't match the back tires.

From our Rides page, "...245/45ZR17 front & 275/40ZR18 rear Nitto Invo tires on 17x8 w/ 4.875" BS and 18x9.5 w/ 5.875" BS Boze Speedster wheels." Looks killer, but again, I think the '69 accepts a staggered combo better than the 67-68 body.

Tobin is correct, but on a 69 the rear back space should have been 5 5/8.. I have to to run 1/4 spacers.

I looked at a lot of pictures of 1 gen Camaros with all sorts of wheels and I finally decided on 18's all around. I have been very pleased with the results.

Am I reaching on this combo for a stock front clip with GBW uppers stock lowers? I know the rear set will work but what about the front?
      rear 275/40/18- nitto55 extreme 26.61 tall 11.06 overall width
front 265/35/18 25.28 tall 10.47 width, This will give me 1.33 for rake.
Or should I play it safe and go with a 245/40/18 in front.
      Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks for the info! When I'm ready for wheels and tires I'm going to go with your same set-up.

Wow, your cars look great. 18's all the way around look great on first gens..

I would say on second gens to go 18's and 19's, but your set up looks great.

      Mine are 18 with 245, and 19 with 275.

What an amazing look! I know I'm late on this post but hoping to find you Steve! I see you ran a 5.75" bs on the rear, how about the front? Also, how much is front/rear lowered?

Thanks again. Car has a perfect look!

Hi Steve - just came across this thread as I am finally completing the last phase of my project that I started 22 years ago. I need to lower my '68 and get wheels and tires. Love the look of your car. Can you give me the lowering specs of your car and what you used? Much appreciated.
