http://www.mpbrakes.com/mp4.htm has stock-type conversion kits (read: inexpensive).
http://www.wilwood.com/AppGuide/App_...ustang6569.asp has 11.75" brakes
for a reasonable price, but 11.75" won't look nice behind a 17" wheel. I am unaware of a 13" vintage Ford kit
from Wilwood.
http://www.baer.com/ and http://www.ssbrakes.com/ make 13" kits, but they are not cheap.
http://www.johnsmustangs.com/brakes.shtml makes their own brake kits, but I have no idea re: price.
09-06-2004 #3check out this page. it has a ton of stang disc swap info. if your gonna go big brakes, go to baer, if your simply looking for discs, do granadas or just buy the origional stuff. anyway, this page has good info, read.....

09-11-2004 #4Here's the 11.75" Wilwoods with a 17" rim. The biggest disadvantage to the Wilwoods is that they increase the front track by 3/8 - 1/2" per side, necessitating wheels with extra backspacing.
You'll probably hear the 11" Granada brakes mentioned also. On a 65 with modified suspension geometry, beware of the slight differences with Granada spindles - can cause bumpsteer issues...
09-13-2004 #5that i don't understend, where is the differance here? i have both a 70 and granada in the garage and they look identical to me.

09-14-2004 #6Can't tell you for sure vs. a 70 spindle, but the ackermann is different for a 65 vs Granada. Looking at the spindles from the top, the tie rod hole is further toward the centerline of the car - that's why so many people swapping Granada's on a 65/66 car run out of adjustment threads. Also, the shorter tie rod assemblies make a poor bumpsteer curve even worse. I think there was even a thread on corner carvers about Granada's & ackerman a while back.
Everyone I've talked to with modified geometry, fat sticky tires, and Granada spindles on a 65/66 car has had problems. I'd bet that I've traded emails with 20+ people over the last several years, who were ALL chasing the same problem. Here's one going on right now.
The bumpsteer issue on 67-up cars tends to be less severe than the 65/66 cars.
