Anyone have an issue with repro tie rod sizes?

I posted this on Camaros.net but got nothing, I'll give it a shot here too.

Anyone have issues with repro inner tie rod being a longer length than stock?

I just got a Baer Tracker kit and replaced my inner TRE, I measured from the grease fitting to the first thread and there was a 1/4" discrepancy between the 2 parts, the repro was longer.

The repro was the only thing Autozone had instock. They had several different I could "order", but they had wait times.

Anyone have experience with these parts and could guide me to which is the most "correct" to OEM?

I exchanged a few emails with the guys from Baer, and have determined the inner tie rods have to be whats causing me to have massive toe in with the Tracker kit.

Howe TRE's (as sold e.g. by SC&C) are a couple of inches shorter than OEM and therefore the need to also purchase tie rod sleeves. Most likely there's also length tolerances in (repro) inner tie rods so you probably have to custom fit the tie rod sleeves. We discussed that already, didn't we?

Yup, I didn't want to cut the sleeve, so I've been talking with Baer Support, and he told me that Autozone likely just uses a cheap "fits all" TR, for a large number of applications, which makes sense. Shorter is exactly what I need, I'll check into that.

EDIT: Oh you said TRE, SC&C doesn't sell inner tie rods (or at least they don't list them on their site).

I just found this on Howe's own website. And from the picture it LOOKS a lot shorter, but I've done some buying from pictures lately and it's resulted in a ton of returns...

Haha! Success! Someone else had this same problem, and I finally found a solution.
