Oh ya, I have started the install on my Classic Update harness. It's not real difficult, but incredibly time consuming and I am a bit anal, so that makes routing wires even more time consuming.

If time is money, then yes have someone else do it. Otherwise, try it yourself. Once you dig into it, it's really not that difficult even for a beginner. Electrical stuff is far from my forte, but I did a total rewire of my Bronco last summer and it wasn't too bad. Just map it out and have a plan, that will save you all the headaches. Not to mention that GM is light years ahead of Ford in terms of wiring simplicity. I don't know why Ford made things so retarded.

I used to work at Goodies (then Speed Merchant) in San Jose. They might be able to help, if not suggest someone.

Yeah, doing something new can be nerve wracking, but most of the kits out there come with good directions and layouts. I never worried about a fire - in fact the reason I redid mine was because the old wiring made me worry about a fire!
