Summit seats in a second gen

OK guys I need some new seats in the soon to be race car Camaro. The old recaros need rebuilding and are heavy 50 lbs with brackets. The Kirkey seat without any brackets but cover is 17 lbs and not adjustable. Summit seat is 33lbs bumped to 42 with adapters and bracket. It was high as was the Recaro so I had to use the lowest hole in the brackets so they have to be cut to not hit the floor. The adapters also had to be notched for bolt access on the outboard rear bolt. there is also a 1/2" spacer between the seat and the slider that can be removed to drop it down more. A littl ehard and the top part couild use a shoulder pad to build it up(Recaro had a flip up deal there) but close to the sam ecolor as the interior and cheaper than redoing the Recaros right now. they will probably go back in the '78 TA as it gets more set for cornering-or maybe the Texas Mile!

man, aftermarket companies do one helluva job of making seats/brackets that sit HIGH. I went through something similar with some junkyard buckets, then Procars, in my nova. I made custom brackets and they still sat too high for my liking. I'm now doing the same with the corbeaus I just bought, as I heard complaints that they sat too high with corbeau's brackets. I had corbeau shave 'em 1" and am 90% sure I've got them nice and low with the brackets I designed.

I'm not a fan of that tab design. I like the flat bottom so you can run a couple pieces of steel as a bracket, and use spacers where necessary. Those seats seem like a pretty darn good bang for the buck otherwise.
