      LS1 Rear caliper conversion brackets

So I need to change my rears to a staggered setup for the staggered shocks.

I'm having trouble finding someone that sells the metal conversion bracket, opposed to a full backing plate with parking brake hardware. It would be even more awesome if someone sold just one bracket.

Will this clear the LS1 rear rotor?

I thought it might have been to adapt LS1's to a third gen.

But what I'm looking for should look like that, but clear a 12 inch LS1 rotor. Am I just nuts and no one makes one? I've been looking for 2 days.

On the LS1 rears ('98-'02 f-body) the backing plate is separate from the caliper bracket. The parking brake actuator mount is part of the caliper bracket, but I don't see why it couldn't be removed.

I need to mount the caliper on the other side, and the bolts to the rear axle housing wouldn't line up.

Get two of the same side (right or left, whichever is required), and use them. That will put one caliper forward and one toward the rear. And the top bracket to axle tube bolts are on top on both sides.

Note that the stock LS1 calipers are mounted toward the front of the Camaro/Firebird.

I was hoping someone would sell just a single bracket so I didn't have to buy another set of backing plates. But alas, I guess I will.

Dan, I had the same problem on my Nova. My left caliper is too close to the left (rear mounted) shock, the brake hose came off and immediately ran into the shock. I took the hose and spun it 180* so that it exits downwards, then I bent the hard line on the axle down under the caliper; the brake hose bends in a "U" shape and meets up with the hard line.

      Hope that helps.

Why are you opposed to having a parking brake? GM backing brackets are cheap and readily available. Easy swap. never mind i actually read your other post. So you have a left and right bracket already?
Tobin does have a bracket for the LS conversion. Give him a call, he has always been helpfull to us in the past. See if you can buy just the brackets. http://www.kore3.com/proddetail.php?prod=10277-01

Holy crap, I searched high and low on his Website trying to find a rear kit to see if they even made a bracket, I couldn't find anything. How in the world did I miss that.

Gonna drop him an email tomorrow since it'll be Sunday. Thanks!
