      I've heard the Tri Y style headers fit with better clearance. I went with a shorty style header so I would not have to worry about it.



      Most of the long tube headers were designed for use in cars with either the 289, 302, or 351. The 351 exhaust ports on the engine are about an inch higher than on the 289/302. This works great for the 351 guys but if you are running a 289 or 302, you end up with clearance problems as they hang an inch lower.
