      70 nova

I have a 70 nova looking to get started on upgrading my suspension. Currently stock except DSE 2" drop springs and DSE front sway bar, has mono leafs in the rear. Should I work on the front or start on the back? Was thinking about the airbar with coil overs for the rear and am open for the front! Looking to get to some of the auto cross events and see what I can do?

Have you pushed the car hard, and if so what handling issues did you notice? Just throwing money at a suspension without knowing what it needs isn't the best way to approach the problem... Sure, there is a lot of experience with this platform, but I'd concentrate on what YOUR car needs... Just MHO.

DSE upper and lower arms, DSE coils and good shocks, DSE leafs and good shocks work very well. How far do you plan to push the car?

Now i have alittle bit of this and that.

DSE upper and lower arms(modded) ATS upper coilover mount, ridetech spindle with tru turn, ridetech swaybar, Ridetech coilovers. Airbar with Ridetech coilovers

Haven't pushed real hard sway bar helped a lot in the front end keeping it on the ground. Steering seems really loose so maybe start there? Mono leafs also feel soft.

I would start with replacing most of the wear items (idler, rod ends..) along with a switch to some solid body bushings. Regardless of what you end up doing (short of a complete subframe) you'll want to replace these anyways.

Take the springs out and put the suspension back together without them. Move it up and down and take a look (and feel) at what happens as you cycle it. Normally these cars want a taller spindle (or ball joint) to make the camber gain better.

If you are going to use stiffer control arm bushings, take the lower arms off and run a 1/2 rod through the mounts. It needs to slide all the way through to make sure everything will pivot freely.

Switch to solid stub mounts and fresh, high quality stub bolts. Definitely fix ANY slop in the steering.

If you want to run tubular arms and the other components suggested, great. Just make sure you are bolting them on a platform that you understand and that is correctly set up for them.
