I could be wrong as I haven't tried this out yet, but I'm guessing GM just redesigned the abutment to space it out radially for the 14" rotor.

This is just a guess and needs to be confirmed though.

yah! $700 for just rotors that's abit much but if that's what that set costs than that's what it is IMHO you could run13" and have as good a set up ( not saying there are no advantages to the 14" ).

especially if rotors are considered a wear item in my book. I like the $40-80 range.

14" rotors for less than $700???

I may need 14-15" rotors to balance my brake system out so if anybody knows of any that don't cost an arm and a leg speak up.

Vince and Cody are cracking me up lately, we missed Cody!

so all C6's have 14" rotors? wouldn't the rotor also be a little thinner since its bigger? also did they get bigger rotors on the rear also?

No, not all C6's have 14 inchers. Just the ones with the RPO Z51.

Why would they need to be thinner if the diameter is bigger?

Not sure about the rears. Remember, the fronts do about 70-80 percent of your braking force due to weight transfer increasing your normal force to the tires.

      Joe,

Do you know the thickness on the 14" rotors? 1.10? Just curious. I didn't realize any C6s besides the Z06 came with 14" rotors. Pretty cool to see GM do that. They're d/s though, right?

yes the Z51 rotors are drilled and slotted. the passenger side ones also have the cooling fins cast backwards. they only made one rotor design and it was for the drivers side. supposedly this wont affect the rotors on the passenger side. i have not heard if they changed that and started making rotors for the passenger side.

also are you sure the Z51 has 14" rotors? i thought they were 13" but drilled and slotted and only the Z06 was going to have 14" rotors.

:rolleyes5 Well, it looks like, from Brian's link, that they feature 13.4" rotors. That's what you get for not taking a closer look when you're at the GM dealership.

Z06 features a 14". you were close. It gives you some good info.
