      safety for our events

at the run through the hills this past year, bill howell and i were talking about safety and what we should do about it.

i do a lot of the tech inspections and such for our local track and road race guys, and i discussed with bill implementing the same procedures for our run to the.... events. seems like a good idea.

the main premise is having someone compentent, other than yourself, check the car before putting ot out on track. doing a thorough job of it. the p[roblems we normally see are of a wear nature, that is unnoticible over the season tp the drver. the other thing we see is that most owners/mechanics tend to get so familiar with a car, they stop seeing things with fresh eyes. thats where the tech shop comes in. fresh eyes. we tend to spot lots of little things that most guys would say "aw, its good enough. been like that for a while" where its a potential for catastrophic failure, or at the very least ending the weekend early.

attached you will find a full compliment of what we use at CMP with one of our clubs. hopefully this will spark some conversation, and a good middle of the road approach to saftey for our events.

ill be keeping tabvs and answeing any questions i can along the way. been doing this stuff for the last 5 years now, so im fairly familiar with things.
