      67-69 Camaros. Convertible vs Coupe

Anyone know if the convertible 1st gens have the same size rear wheel well area as the coupes? They seem narrower, but I could just be imagining things.

Also, has anyone mini-tubbed a convertible yet? Was it a pain in the butt?

      Thanks,
      Tony

The wheel wells are the same size. Yes we mini tubed, and yes it was a pain. There is a super structure accros the trunk between the tubs 3 layer thick. Once you cut it, then notch the frame rail, everything gets pretty weak. You will need to do a crossmemeber and roll bar, and back brace it.
I kow of at least 2 cars that are tubbed and not back braced, I also know of one of those that the door would not open after some hard driving.
You can check our site and look at the yellow car, there are a lot of pictures there.

I mini tubbed mine as well (69 vert) I built a full frame for mine. Before I cut it up it was braced like crazy though.
