ls3 416 stroker Head gasket help!!

So I have taken my engine to the machine shop, I am going with eagle rotating assembly, I will be running 9:1 pistons. My questions is when I look at jegs website for headgaskets there are several cometic gaskets I think I need 4.120 wich would be a tad bit bigger then the 4.070 bore and 051 thickness, I am wondering what are the.030 gaskets for and how much would they increase the compression? and does this also change any geometry in the valvetrain? I am still banging my head trying to figure all this out, I have also seen they use the ls9 head gaskets I plan on supercharging this engine what good advice is out there thanks

Your machine shop should be able to tell you what head gasket you need to reach your desired compression ratio. Cometic build a very high quality gasket, and the LS-9 gaskets are very good as well. You machine shop will tell you what thickness you require, after that you can measure for correct pushrod length.

I'm working on an lq4/ls3 build and I have found that the .030 gasket isnt all it seems to be, piston to head clearance is the issue to be concerned about. According to EPS (Engine Power Systems) the minium desired quench is .035. Anything less invites piston to head contact at high rpm. the pistons on ls motors come out of the bore about .007. Felpro makes a gasket p/n 1041 that is .040 which is what I'm using.

Get the LS9 gasket....simple as that! They have been extremely popular and I have not seen one person not happy with them.
