Hey Brent, on those valve covers you could let the paint sun or oven bake a little & blocksand instead of stripping & starting over. Should be able to get them pretty straight that way.
Used the dupli-color black ceramic paint on my ground effects as temporary paint. It's pretty tough once fully cured. It will also color sand & buff pretty good for a more professional look.
