Anyone collect old Hot Rod magazines? Pic request.

There was a car on the cover of Hot Rod magazine in late 78 or early 79. It was a Corvette Indy Pace Car replica with a blower and 4 Weber side draft carbs.

The article was called "Whistlin' in the Dark". Owners name was Mal Winer (Winder or Winert maybe). He was a contractor in L.A., and bought 13 of the Indy Corvettes when they came out that year.

I'm jonesin' for a picture of that car...

      Thanks in advance.

Wow, this time I crawled up Google's ASS looking for info, and only one other post; over on the Corvette forum...with no answer either. Weird... It was NOT a HOT ROD cover car. I looked thru the list of HR covers, too...

I have all the old Hot Rod mags in binders from 1954. I looked 76-81 and couldn't find it. I had forgotten about the Vette craze almost every magazine has at least one Vette article. I even found an article on blown Vettes but no Webers. Interestingly there is a blown Duece with Webers on the cover of March 1979 with a couple of other cars for an article about flames - sorry.

He can also try www.nitroactive.net -- they sell old magazines (and buy collections of old magazines) Not sure if the 70s is too new though.
