2in spindle didn't drop 67 camaro...big block coils keeping it up?

Hey everyone, I lowered my 67 camaro with 2" drop spindles, but it DIDN'T lower the car at all.
Is this common? What's the problem?
The car does have big block springs (with a small block motor in it) could these be holding it up?
Should I...get lowered coils, or just stock small block coils....or something else?
Little stumped here, thanks for any help!

Did you compare the stock spindles to the new ones? Are the drop spindles new or used?

A 2" drop spindle should lower the car 2" from a "stock" height spindle regardless of the springs it's running. As noted above, you should verify whether the spindles you removed were stock or drop spindles, a quick comparison of the spindle pin location relative to the lower ball joint should answer that for you.

You either had 2" dropped spindles already or you just installed new stock height spindles. Need a comparison pic.

Also, make sure the springs are indexed properly. If you got the springs rotated out of the pocket when you put it back together, it may be sitting higher than it should be.

X2 that a 2" spindle should drop the fender exactly 2", no matter what.

Hmm, thats what I thought too...that a spindle should lower it regardless of springs. I guess Ill have to check them to the originals, we've had the car about 20 years but maybe it was a drop spindle already or maybe they sent the wrong part and it's just another stock spindle?
Either way, it doesn't look like 2 inches will be enough for the look we're going for....does anyone know how much going from big block to small block springs will lower the car, if at all?

Did you try driving it yet? The suspension will need to settle quite a bit after it's been jacked up/on a lift. Just a thought.

X2 rally....when you jack the car up and the suspension unloads the wheels come inward. Once you lower the car back down it will need to be driven, at least a few hundred feet with turning...

Did you replace the coils? That will cause this prob all the time. The big block coils don't typically make THAT much of a diff. As the motors were not that far apart in weight.

If you did change the coils where did you get them?

A 2" drop spinde is GUARANTEED to drop the car 2"

If you want shoot me a pic of the new spindles to [email protected] and I will identify them for you.

well, sorry for the late reply! been very very busy and havent been on here in a while.
We will wait until it's driven, just from bouncing it around a little bit it seems to have come down a little but so I'm not as worried as before! Looks like it might be just fine. The first day was looking scary!
      Thanks for all the help!
Now to try to find wheels and tires!
