Got the hood starting to fit, and wanted to show the mustang differences. Although the cars are ther same height to the roof, the belt line on the Mustang is much lower, making the hood on the AMX set higher,in turn making the whole car seem higher. I do like the wheelbase changes, think it really helps the car, though the purists will probably hate it. I think it was Jimi Day who said you could fit all the AMX fans into a Volkswagon.

Hey Ron did you move the front wheels forward any ? Or just shorten the front of the fenders. I really like the way the front looks now And the extra length in wheelbase makes the amx look much better. I have one also I'm working on. It has art Morrison C5 subframe and I've almost gotten the cobra IRS installed. Seeing yours has given me more motivation to work on mine I even sold my 93 cobra to help fund my amx project.

LOL I just stumbled on this thread... you're nuts Ron! I will say this though, if anyone can make an AMX cool, it'll be you. I agree with the other person; do a custom front bumper / splitter like the mustang and then do something funky with the backside and you'll have a winner for sure. Can't wait to see this one unfold!

P.S. Does this mean I can have the mustang now?

Now you'll need a double trailer so everyone can see both cars at the events you attend!

Wow. I'm an AMCer as well, although about as far from Pro-Touring as you can get. When it comes to cars and surfing, I think turning is overrated, it's all about the cruise/glide. ;)

Absolutely fascinated by this build, though. Looking forward to watching the progress.

Ron, if you plan on selling it for a lot of money, you shouldn't make it look so easy. I mean, .......jeez it only took a couple of months, .....right? It will be worth a fortune just because it's so DARN coooool.

Glad you got back to this car. I was really wondering what and where it was at this point. Looks great in the current paint. Can't wait to see what you do with the wheel openings.

Was hoping to find a better pic where you could really compare the two, but I'm striking out finding good pics of AMX's. Is that saying something??

Car is looking great, Ron. You've got good "vision" for making vehicles look better with somewhat "subtle" changes. Not that the Mustang or this project is subtle, but they're not not big, bling, added-wing kinda changes either. They're tasteful, enhancing changes. Keep it up.
