Got the body back on, and the engine and trans in it for mock up, I think I will have to go with the shorter torque arm, just too busy with that magnum 6 speed. Trying to deside what I'm going to do for power, my buddy Frank is trying to talk me into twin turbos, it really would be cool, but would add alot of weight.

dont you overcome weight with horsepower?

what about smaller twins, rear mounted to equal out the weight gain some?

Cool but driving it will be a handful because they come on so violently bud.... I'd be inclined to weigh that decision very carefully if you plan to auto-cross this car.....

Man, this is an awesome build, but that front turning radius looks like it wouldnt turn around in a 40 acre feild. Is that the best you can get with those gigantic tires on the front?

It just looks that way in the pics, the turning radius is exactly the same as a C6 Corvette, and what I like is even at full lock that the tires don't rub anywhere.

      Picture.

I agree, I love that picture.
Would be a blast to drive it like that, slap some sheet metal on the sides and the front, plexiglass windshield on the cage and go open wheel racing.

      Maybe an extra engine, too?

That twin engine car is a Buddys car. Just a short film with a little insight to Yannick Sire at Sire Custom Performance.

      http://www.autoblog.com/2011/02/28/v...able-hedonism/

Back in the 80s Prostreet phase I worked on a full frame/removable body car. I made 2 bodys for it, a Camaro and a Firebird. I have to find finished pics of them.

I know how much work is going into this build and Im loving it! And it being an AMX is even better.

Hah, great reference! My close friend's "car" with a Dana 60. That pic is from a photoshoot at the now defunct Engle Cams location in Santa Monica.

The car is looking good. I built an underslung chassis for a 35 Ford pickup a few years back and it really worked out quite well.

Leave the long torque arm. The longer it is, the less likely it will be to brake hop. I say brake hop but its the violent downshifts that really do it. When that happens, sometimes the only thing you can do is throttle out of it.....kind of the last thing you want to do when you are trying to slow down.

      Keep up the inspiring work.

It's just so cool that this car that looks for all intents and purpose like a race car with shell off is being built for both street and track duties. You rule Ron.
