      Thanks for the replies. I was thinking with the lower loads on the uppers, the four 5/16 fasteners should keep it together, but it will be entirely based on the clamping of the balljoint down to the arm. At least if it does fail at that interface, the joint will be captured in the arm and it shouldn't go anywhere.

      The Napa joints have some mismatched instructions to go with the bad fitment. Everything refers to 1/4-28 fasteners, but the package includes 5/16-24. I am a bit concerned the torque spec is wrong. It says 8ft-lb for the 1/4-28 bolts and 65 ft-lb for the castle nut. My old Haynes manual says 50ft-lb for the castle nut and I have no spec for the 5/16-24 fasteners. 8ft-lb seems awfully low. I tend to stick with the original torque spec for the balljoint. Any suggestions on what to go with for the 5/16" bolts? The nuts are not self locking. I was thinking a standard torque for grade 8 fastener
