      Did you folks watch Pinks?

The new show called "Pinks" on Speed the other night where 2 people or teams race for each others cars?

And "Unique Whips" when the big guy that owned the Viper having the seats modified plowed up a bunch of the grass when he drove his viper over the curb taking the owner of the shop for a ride?

I saw pinks. The host needs a vacation, and appearantly the show is fake. Both of the racers are on ls1tech. It was such an unmatched race it wasn't funny. The Camaro is good for Mid-low 10s, where as the firechicken was mostly stock with a 50 shot of N20, 3600 stall and some other minor stuff. Top 12s. It should've been heads up racing--run whatcha brung and hope you brought enough. But hey, it was cool to see two f-bodys racing, atleast it wasn't two civics.

I saw pinks, and that race was way off, very unmatched. I remember watchin the premiere episode or whatever it was on racingjunk and that one seemed good. But this pinks was really crappy, and the host, where the hell did they find him. lol

I saw the rerun last night and I think I watched 5 minutes total. That show SUCKS!!!!!. I have seen that host somewhere before on one of the other cable channels but can't place him. Get right down to it, none of the reality shows on SPEED compare to TLC or DISCOVERY. By reality I am not speaking of racing. SPEED is my default channel on my TV.

      I heard...

I didn't see it but a guy at work did and he said the biggest disappointment to him was that they never showed any of the races all of the way through. He told that they broke for commercials in between the runs and it was almost all commercials. Heck 15 seconds and they have to stop in the middle. I guess they figur it will hold you through the commercials. Heck if the show is interesting enough we all wait thru the commercials.

The part he liked the best was when the host told them that if they couldn't agree in the next few minutes they would go with the part of the contract that said they had to both give up their cars.

I am looking forward to seeing it once just so I can see who is advertising.

Not fake in the racing sense, but fake in the "racing for pinks" sense. The firebird did not even belong do the guy racing it, and supposidly he "bought" the car back for $100 after the race. Check out the racer's lounge on ls1tech.com. There is a thread in there with all the details.

The show was still cool because two f-bodies were racing. I think they need a host with a little more patience and knowledge of cars/racing/street racing, though.

I liked the host, he reminded me of every a**hole that would referee street races. Never had a bike or car, just a big mouth. There was a guy in yonkers who thought my shock resorvoir had nitrous in it.

Hey Ralph, are we allowed to mention street racing in the past tense or is that a no-no?

Horrible show, maybe the worst car show in history. They filmed the last show here in Orlando. Totally fake and the host is a f---ing imbosole. he gives street racers a bad name, and I have seen some idiotic street racers.
My friends race on the Orlando show, and everyone still has their cars. In fact they got paid and kept their cars.
Just goes to show how popular car and bike shows are right now, the networks will even pick up this crap in an effort to get in on the action.
As far as Texas hardtails, the show sucked but at least their is a hot babe on that show.

The thing about the pre-fast/furious generation of street racers is that they were usually stealthy, everything went down in the middle of nowhere. No weaving in and out of traffic or public nonsense, it was all business.
Once I raced a guy at least ten times,he had 7/11 gsxr with serious motor. Each time we ran one of us would win by inches, I was winning two out of three. He actually drained some of his gas to save wheight and put 70 pounds of air in his front tire. Then I looked in my tank and realized I didnt have enough gas to get home so he bought me gas on his card so he could run me.We finally just gave up but years later I saw him in a supermarket and he came over to me and told me he was ready to go again!

Just watched it myself. Bad. Soap-opera for men. I liked the credits, it turned off before I could read it all, but it said "The characters in this show are losely based on real-life.........."

I saw part of texas hardtails last night, and thought it was a strange show. If they're going to make a fake show, they atleast need to get some better actors. The chick applying for the modeling job was :icon996:, though.

You ran a 750 GSXR that had a built 1100 motor in it?? And you won?? What the hell does your car run in the 1/4 8's?? I had a 91 GSXR 750 with a 907 kit in it and it ran 9.50's on a 190 dunlop street tire. Either that dude you raced can't ride or you have one seriously fast car. Either way congrats.
