Thanks a lot guys. And yes Ray, a huge thanks to my dad for that. I dont know how long itd be until this thing got on the road without him. As it is i finish finals thursday and only have seven days before summer classes start...

Heres how it looks in the sun MattWash08:

(Im still nervous at how high the front is, i dont know if the ground clearance will allow me to go as low as it needs to)
Ive always liked the flat paints, it makes the car stand out. when you go to a car show you almost forget how many hours go into making those beautiful crystal clear paint jobs when thats all that is there. The flat (and now searing green) makes it stand out to me, with a lot less effort-no color sand/buffing. But the whole reason for the flat was that the duster, and this car for a while at least, will only be living in parking lots until i grow up and graduate haha. At like $150 for a gallon of paint its less of a punch in the stomach if someone opens their door into your quarter panel...

Summer classes are for the birds (I was in college for 9 years, my thoughts may not be valid). I love the flat green and the car is shaping up nicely.

Took me 7.5 years to get a bachelors in industrial design (car design). Got married and had 2 kids during that time. Worked as a designer for a few years, got my own hot rod rendering business off the ground, two more kids, and went back for another 2 years to get an associates in collision repair/ street rod emphasis. Did the best I could making the beaters I drove as cool as I could, graduation was just today. Now in about 2-3 weeks I start work on the other side of the country, living my dream at Bulldawg Muscle cars. BTW I just turned 42 in January.

Bottom line is chasing your dream will all be worth it here soon enough; with the car AND with your career goals. A big congrats to you for sticking to it, even when things weren't going so well. Quitters and whiners will never get to where you're headed, keep plugging along, the end, or rather the beginning, is near.

PS, the paint is just about perfect on the obnoxious-o-meter. And my opinion is that those ram horns belong on trucks, I like the more sinister smaller Demon horns and viper eyes. Keeps the whole overall design a little more simple and clean looking, JMO.

Thanks a lot guys, im having a good time finally doing what i want and getting my hands on the car! First my friend and i took the duster apart and brought it to the scrap yard. Now the body dolly is free and ready for my kaisers cab(hopefully in a month).

Today my dad and i got the trunk on, and i roughed in the hood finally- i had to crack it in half in the back and give it more contour left to right..its all in one piece now, ready for some fine tuned body work with a grinder, then bondo and an orbital.

You can see into the engine compartment pretty well through the windshield, i think im going to do the ricey, car-showey thing and put two sets of green led's under the hood, i already have the wiring there from the universal painless setup. More fiberglassing, wiring, and welding tomorrow...

I like the way this one is coming together better than the flat black Duster. Definitely makes a bolder statement and I think it will look more complete, i.e. done.

Thanks, I liked the flat black and all, but it did leave it looking 'unfinished' (and really hot in the sun), i cant count how many people asked when it would be done, what color it was going to be-i started telling them that i didnt know, id decide what color to make it in a few years...

today i finished all of the fuel system that i can do until the new intakes in the car. I fabbed up a new set of transmission tunnel covers, and did some more work on the hood. I tried installing the hydraboost, but i cant install it upsidedown as planned, it hits the clutch master and the hydraulic lines are pointed towards the headers...flipped over in the correct direction and the gas cannister is close to the headers, but everything clears, so thats how ill be running it

Thanks guys, its all finally coming together and you can see what ive had in my head this whole time haha..
A lot of the loose ends were taken care of on this trip-not as much as i wanted to get done, but enough to make me happy with the progress. I got the intake manifold drilled ready to be tigged, got the new water pump on, the mechanical fuel pump block off installed, and the steering column in with the hydraboost above it. I spent a lot of time on tho hood, and its getting close to being presentable.

Haha, i saw that...it took me like 5hrs to progressively drill those holes with a drill press. With all the time i have into that thing itd almost have been worth buying a new efi manifold haha

Just a bit more progress, the front ends together. I thought the bumpers were too far gone to use without painting, but my dad said theyre in acceptable condition, so we'll run them that way for now i guess. Im trying to think of all the little parts that still need to be ordered (hydroboost stuff, distributor rotor...) so i only have to pay for shipping one more time. Mechanically the hydroboost needs to be addressed, and the intake-thats it, then tighten all the -AN fittings up and try to start it.
