Tony – If you’re only looking to lower your Camaro 2 inches, springs would be a good way to do it. Before purchasing any coilover setup for a first gen Camaro, consult with the company and tell them how much you want to lower your car. Some of these kits are designed to lower your car 2 inches or less, which will leave you wanting more out of your purchase.
If you’re looking for improved suspension geometry (along with lowering your Camaro) you will need to install more than just springs. Lowering the stock F-body suspension will not correct geometry deficiencies.
If you’re looking at control arms and want to lower your car while improving driving performance while not modifying your frame, take a look at these Hotchkis suspension parts: tubular upper control arms, taller ball joints, 2 inch drop springs, HPS-1000 shocks, and a front sway bar.
The combination of the improved geometry of our upper control arms and the taller ball joint will give you a better caster adjustment and camber curve with without modifying the frame.
