      Paul, very nicely done. What did you use for your top cover piece around the shifter? It looks like brushed aluminum. I like that a lot.

      I just bought a piece of plain sheet metal from Lowes and rolled 80grit sandpaper around a rolled up rag and then just brushed it until I got the desired brushed finish I wanted. I stepped up the sandpaper from 80 to 120 to 220 was the final grit. Was pretty easy.

      That is awesome! Great idea using small bar steel to make a frame and then cover some sheet. Probably a LOT easier than fiberglass. Maybe less expensive too!

      As a beginner welder I just thought it would help my welding skills develop more.
      It was definitly time consuming, but it's just time so that didn't cost me anything.
      The material ony cost me, maybe, $150 total. Plus I learned alot along the way.
