DEI/Boom Mat Leather Look Sound deadener...

Has anyone else bought this stuff?

I purchased a little bit of it to finish my firewall with in order to hide the "foil" type sound deadner underneath and get a little extra insulation as I don't have A/C in my car .

However, I can't bring myself to actually put it in the interior of my car.

It has been laying in my trunk for almost 2 weeks now as I try to air it out.

It reeks. Alot. The smell reminds me of chloraseptic throat spray, just much stronger and more chemical-like if that makes sense. It's to the point that my wife made me put it in the trunk of the car, outside because the smell was making her ill when it was in the garage.

anyone have this sort of experience with it? This is my first DEI purchase so I have no idea what their stuff is normally like.

Long story short, I won't really be able to use it as I'm not about to put something in the car that makes my wife not want to be in it.

anyway, if anyone else has any experience with it, please post up. I want to figure out whether this is normal or I should let someone at dei know.

      Thanks!
