Oh I got ya, I am making it out of one piece. After thinking about it for some time I think I will make an MDF template with double sided tape to attach it to the aluminum and cut the trim pieces out with a router and copy bit. Unfortunately, I don't have a welder of any kind or any welding skills but eventually I would like to acquire both.
