      I need tires (a rant)

Ok I was at the Great Labor Day Cruise Auto-X this weekend, had a great day with Pro-touring crowd along with getting 38 (3 in Brett 67 convt Camaro) runs this weekend on the Malibu. I ran the life right out of the front NT05's, the right side is offically bald. So I went checking tires for the Malice Malibu and came up pretty empty. When will people realise that you really don't need freaky big rims so the tire companies will come back to making wider tires for rim sizes in 16" and 17". I don't like 18" rims but have considered a change to them, but will the tire companies abandon those size and then I will have another set of white elephant rims. I will sell the car before I go to wagon wheel 20", no way, no how, NEVER! I will go back to drag racing before I run the over sized wheels that are popular today.

I would like a good working tire in the sizes of 255/40/17 and 285/40/17. I can't be lower than 200 TW (come on is 180 TW really that much of a difference????) so I can play at RTT_. I guess I could just forget it and be a rebel that will just run RTT_ on Kumho XS @ 180 TW.

Sorry for the rant but this big bling wagon wheel trend has got stop sometime.

      I agree with that!

I am running the falken rt615k tires, 245/45/17 and 275/40/17. Those are 25.6 tall. They are slightly smaller but may be an option for you.

I hate wagon wheels. Most SUVs with 24s and multi-spoke wheels look like covered wagons.
