      bump steer

Hi everyone, I would like to know how to eliminate bump steer from my 69 RS/SS .I have the factory set up with all new parts... Very tight steering but very bad bump steer. Can anyone post pictures of any better system out there or of any after market products....

      Thxs

      One word of warning:
      9. Is the Tru Turn system compatible with my OEM control arms, or other brands of control arms?
We have only done fitments with the ridetech StrongArms. While it is possible that the OEM arms, or another brand of tubular control arm could work, we cannot guarantee fit or performance.
You might have to replace some additional parts of that new factory setup to get TruTurn to fit or function properly...

Tru Turn is made for their tall spindles, you have to switch to them. They are also drop spindles, so you would need new springs. The taller spindle has a lot of benefits to camber gain & cornering. Their kit fixes a lot more than just bumpsteer.

I have the Baer tracker tie rod ends. I have to say, if you have alot of bumpsteer they wont correct that. They are more of a tuning aid where a car is pretty set up and you want to dial in some small numbers. I would not recommend them for a guy that has some extreme bumpsteer numbers. I didnt, it was kinda small after I did some other work. I checked the bumpsteer and I was getting more than I liked early on in compression from neutral. So the tie rod ends allowed me to remove the slight "steer in" on compression and I was very happy to see the new numbers. BUT!! It took the entire shim pack to make that happen, and I wasnt that bad to begin with. But they did allow me to dial it in and fix the small turn in.

For any large amount of bumpsteer I would not recommend the baer tracker tie rod ends. JR

And I said I was having some steering (bumpsteer) issues early on in compression and now that I think about it that sounds opposite. Its been a few years that I checked the BS and installed the tie rod ends but I could swear I was having more issues at the start of compression rather then the extreme compression cycle where you would think BS would have the most effect. I have all the paperwork for the checks I made. Maybe I need to revisit the papers to refresh my memory. My memory could be failing me, thats why I document EVERY change and test numbers. Just sounds odd that the BS would have the most effect at the start of the compression cycle. I need to read my notes again if only to talk about it. Cause the car handles like a dream, dont need my notes for that
