Nate, 133mph was the high-speed this spring at Amery by Brandon Ranvek in a Mitsubishi EVO... would be cool to see what you could do with that Nova. They're doing the Amery deal again September 27th, but I believe it's sold out already (fills up as soon as it's announced...) Amery Airport Run and the Afton Alps Hillclimb are both put on by Tom Hazen of the Minnesota Austin Healey Club... way cool and very laid-back events.

there's quite a few local events coming up yet... If you guys want to meet up at one of these I might be convinced to attend with either my wife's 66 wagon, or find a co-drive in someone's Miata or BMW for the day.

Derek, if you see any spots for the Amery run let me know. So just how far is the top speed run?

It's somewhere around 1/3 to 3/8 mile... the runway is 1/2 mile with part of it used as shutdown area. I've never been to Amery, but if Tom runs it anything like the Hillclimb, it has to be awesome. I'd email Tom ( [email protected] ) and ask if he has any spots open for vintage cars (he has separate new/vintage/exotic registration so it doesn't fill up with 50 miatas)

Thanks John! I don't think a wagon has ever placed in this competition before, let alone won it. I'm pretty stoked the car did so well.
