      Think I cooked my transmission

      Any quick fixes???

Participating in Heidts Challenge right now! If I give the car a lot of throttle is doesn't want to go anywhere. If I ease into the throttle, seems better. This is also my ride home! HELP!

Is this an automatic transmission we're talking about?

Put some of that Lucas Auto Trans Additive in it and take it easy 'till you get home ..

Yeah, probably should have mentioned that it was a 4L60E, but I was a little frantic at the moment... Called all over on Saturday trying to find a shop that was open with no luck. I limped to the nearest Jiffy Lube, and had them do a quick tranny fluid flush. Kinda got 1st & 2nd gear back, but not enough to drive it home. I ended up talking my brother into coming out to Joliet, about an hour from home, and trailering it back.

      Weighing my options now...

Burned out the clutch packs? Did you smell the fluid before having Jiffy Lube work on it?

Pretty sure I burned out the clutch packs. Smelly and smokey. (Names of 2 new dwarves? )

Looking into my options whether to rebuild my 4L60E with a cooler or go 4L80E. Only pushing about 380 hp/380 ft. lb. tq., so I don't think I need anything real beefy... yet.

4l60 barely hold up behind a 4 cylinder in a Sonoma truck, wrong choice in trans, modify it an add clutch packs, vette servo, "The Beast" sun shell, trans go shift kit and a cooler, might last then,
