Spindle reccomendation for shallow Fikse wheels

I have looked around for several months but this is my First post.

My apologies if this is a well covered or stupid question.

I have a 79' T/A full Hotchkis suspension, running 17" Fikse wheels. I am upgrading the brakes, likley to Baer Track 4's and would like to change over the spindle or hub to better fit the wheels eliminating so much of the grease cap sticking out making the wheel centers tough to fit.

Is there a spindle hub bearing combo that will make that area shorter?

I have heard that going to a AFX with the Corvette hub/bearing would be a good option.

Any thoughts or ideas on that direction?
