      Strengthening factory front control arms?

I've got factory lower control arms for my El Camino that have already been modified to work with coilovers. So instead of spending $$ on new lower arms I will use these.

But I am worried about the area around the ball joint. I may have been unlucky, but I have had two factory arms develop cracks and break around the ball joints in the past.

Does anybody have pre-made plates to reinforce the arms? I can make them but it would be nice not to have to.

If there is a market for them, you should make a template and cut up a dozen pairs and see if they sell.

Frankly though, I just bought some tubulars and got away from the stock stamped ones. Funny thing is the stock units are 3 lbs lighter than the new ones!
Old enough to know better, young enough to think I can get away with it.
