      Rack and pinion

Any thoughts on converting to a rack and pinion for a 65 Chevelle? Anyone have any experiences to share on which bolt in kit has the best fit.

      Thanks,
      Derrell

      Opinions vary, so here's mine.

      Why?

To me a rack and pinion conversion is just a giant compromise to have rack and pinion. there are several good quality steering boxes available for that car that will work much better in the long run.

Just looked at pics of your car, it looks like a big block in there. Usually steering linkage and headers can be a bear in applications like yours.

I'd agree. The racks I've seen for the whole GM A-body line look like a kludge of a mess that I wouldn't bolt to anything. I put a quick ratio box on my Buick and called it a day and couldn't be happier.
