GM rack and pinion rebuild or replace ?

My Corvette steering rack decided to puke fluid after the 2nd session at the Motorstate and it is just the 27 year old seal that probably needs to be replaced. The rack feels good and tight but the seal going into the rack from the intermediate shaft is leaking. 260 degrees was probably a bit warm for the old plastic.

Are the seals a pain to replace and require special tools or is it an easy job? i have been looking for info and have yet to find any exploded views of it yet.

I keep telling myself to get a rebuild but at $250 I would rather replace the seal if it doesn't require a whole lot to do.

      Thanks

Found a rebuilt rack with lifetime warranty for $152.00 w/exchange.

Not a bad deal. Now for the fun of the alignment.
