Great story Craig, nice to see a company step up, admit they had a problem and offer such an expensive refund.
I just know that giving the same issues NASCAR and the France family would do the same thing-Yeah right.

You should hear the smack being dished out by NASCAR track owner Bruton Smith. He says it will be 10-15 years before Formula 1 comes back to the states. Bill France of NASCAR said that they would have handled it differently than F1 did and would've been able to come up with a compromise. They see this as a victory for them. I'm sure before this happened NASCAR was more than a little concerned about F1 in the United States. With public comments like this, I'm sure they are trying to get the most mileage out this as they can.

I'm a BIG fan of F1, and this absolutely kills me that this has happened to the USGP. I'm sure that NASCAR will exploit this to the fullest potential that they can. Bernie is knocking on Bills door! It also bummes me out because during the race, there was even discussion that F1 was looking to have a 2nd US race in either LA or NY, you can kiss that goodbye.

While it would be easy for F1 to leave, if they do next year it probably would be 10-15 years before they could come back. I think they are going to have to stick it out and hope US fans forgive them in the next couple of years. The US is the biggest consumer market in the world, and Bernie wants a piece of that pie.

If you ever want to go to an F1 race, go next year, because I am sure that you will be able to get some killer seats!

I was at the F1 race, and have already renewed my tickets for next year. Even before the announced they refund of the ticket price.
Which works out for me, as it didn't cost a whole lot to drive down from Michigan.
I feel bad for the guys who flew out from Brazil, or Norway. Yeah they get their $100 back, but what about the 1500 in expenses?

It was unfortunate that the 7 teams didn't run, but I wouldn't risk 14 million dollars worth of car if the tire manufacturer said they might blow....

I blame Michellin for bringing the wrong tires. Just my 2 cents.

exactly. "run what ya' brung" and Michelin brought junk. Their fault, not Formula 1's. I have grown to respect Formula 1 and their drivers. There definitely a better sense of team than in NASCAR. DOn't get me wrong, the drivers are still superstars. But look at the huge amount of people that are on each team and how they react when their respective driver succeeds or fails. Plus the girls at the beginning of each race are way better than Whoopi Goldberg starting a NASCAR race.
