Firebird louvers converted to brake ducts

So I'm looking to do some very different things with my '68 Firebird project, even down to subtle little details. Every time I look at the louvers on the rear quarter, I want them to be functional. So I'm considering cutting the slits out, making some small scoops that would stick off the car slightly and forming some ducts to fit inside the quarter and feed cold air to the rear discs.

The question is, would this be worth it? Each side would have 6 slits, each about 1"x3" with a scoop sticking out about 1". Will this provide enough airflow to make a difference? Do the rear discs even need extra airflow?

Hi stupid newbie....don't be so hard on yourself. LOL
The side scoops would be a nice touch, but you would have to make a catch to grab good air. Much like the Shelby ones. The air flow close to the body won't be alot. I think you might need more than 1". But it would be worth it on a track car.
Another alternative is to duct air straight from the rocker panel. That section is part of GMs internal air flow body cleaner. The rockers get airflow from the cowl panel.

I think it would be an awesome mod. Even if they dont work real well who else will have something that unique?
