      POR 15 under primer?

I have one brand new quarter in bare metal rite now and want to cover it up this summer. I have used POR-15 on other areas of the car and like what I end up with. I was planning to epoxy primer the car but then I thought of the POR-15 again. Can/should I put down a layer of POR-15 on the bare metal then apply primer? If I do the POR first, should I bother with epoxy primer or use another kind? After the primer, I plan on a few coats of high build primer to be sanded down but that is further down the road. I would just like to get the bare metal covered up for now while I finish up the front suspension and drivetrain stuff.

you want to use an etching primer on raw metal, then you can use the por-15 (thinned down and sprayed-takes about 72 hours to fully cure for this purpose) then about 4 layers or more of a high build primer to block down, then a primer sealer, then color, then clear

here's the roof panel on my car after a por-15 shoot then it sat in the booth overnight

The intended purpose of POR-Paint Over Rust, is to literally "paint over rust". It is an encapsulator.
It will peel off in sheets if not applied correctly and needs a rough surface to adhere to.
If you have a new pristine panel, you can do no better than epoxy primer/sealer.

I agree, POR is for rusty metal. Epoxy is the way to go for new bare metal in my opinion.

when panel are prepped correctly por-15 works without a hitch on, floors, sub frames, seat frames, so for our shop it was a fun to use the product to coat the inner quarters, trunk floors, and roof skin on my car to see how it holds up

a few years and no issues!!
