Fikse Profil 5s versus Rushforth Superspoke

I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out which wheel to get for my 68 Camaro. I have it narrowed down to two great wheels, but I would like to get your opinions to see if there is anything I'm over looking.

I really like the split 5 spoke designs by Fikse's Profil 5s and Rushforth's Super Spoke.

I think I prefer the Rushforth in Smoked Titanium, but I like Fikse in Race Satin or Race Black.

I'm in the same boat as you. With the Fikse's being on sale right now the price difference is only about $300 for a set of 18's. I am considering the livewires and rated x vs. the profil 5. Honestly I think I like the looks of the Rushforth's better, but the 3 piece fikse's have advantages as well. I think I am going to go with the fikse's because they are 3 piece. This way if I decide to minitub down the road I just need to new inner wheel half(my rear is already narrowed). If I hit a pot hole and bend a rim I can just get a hoop rather than a whole wheel.

I've spoke to driverz inc about both options, and as soon as my Budnik's sell I will be placing an order.

If you go with the Fikse they are only available in a step lip unless something has changed since I last checked. If I could get them in a fat lip I would. I just like the look better. My Budnik's are fat lip and the only thing that I don't like is the step ends up behind the spokes and this creates a channel that traps water. If you get caught in the rain it traps dirt and everything, and it's a little more work when cleaning the car.

Both will hold up at the track. I have Rushforth Livewire wheels on my car.

I too liked the look of the fat lip wheels better. However, design does come with some drawbacks. As already mentioned water is trapped between the step in the back of the rim and the spokes. This is annoying. It's not just an issue when it rains but everytime I wash my car. it just takes a bit of extra time and a ton of extra towels to dry the wheels before you drive again. I've found that even if the water is clean if you don't dry it then the flash rust that often happens on the rotor from washing gets the water dirty as soon as you drive and makes a mess of the wheels all over again. Since almost all fat lip wheels will have this problem I'm sure a lot of people deal with it just fine. I just hate washing my car. I'd rather be driving it.

The other issue is autocross and track time. As the valve stem is hidden behind the spokes on a Rushforth checking air pressure or adjusting it is almost guaranteed dirt all over my hands from reaching into the rim and inadvetanly touching the rotor. Again more annoying than anything. Because I run the flush stems if I'm at the track where I can't wash my hands I use a pair of gloves to do it.

Otherwise i do think the Rushforth's look killer and they havent let me down after maybe 500+ miles of track driving. If I buy a other set of wheels I will look for designs that don't have those two drawbacks as I find myself currently drawn a bit more to the function side over form.

For cruising and looking good the Rushforth, but for track use, I would prefer the Fikse.

I like both wheels, but would choose Fikse if pricing is close enough.

If I go with Fikse, which finish do you guys think looks best? I plan to paint the car a dark metallic blue if it matters.

Both are good wheels, but the Fikse will weight in a little less, and the quality is very noticeable in the Fikse wheel. Also, the Fikse is a true three piece wheel, so exotic sizes are a breeze, for like say an 8.5 or 10.5, etc. so just another benefit to the 3 pc construction.

Again, both are excellent wheel choices, you couldn't go wrong, and like Chad said, both will do well on the track, as well as the street, lots of Value in the Fikse purchase however with the sale going on.

With your paint color, I think the Satin Anodized is the way to go. Looks awesome against blue colors....

Both good choices, but the Fikse's are just a classic kick ass look on a 1st gen Camaro and the sale driverzInc has going on I would be all over it if I were you. It's a killer deal, I know first hand.

I like the look of seeing no bolts on the front of the wheel.I have had fikse's on 2 cars and they great wheel's.Rushforths are awesome too.Choose what you like. can't go wrong with either wheel choice.
