      Help with car appraisals

Ok here is the situation, I am considering becoming a classic auto appraiser. There is three organizations that say they are credited at giving certification. My question is to those here who either have had a car appraised or are themself a certified appraiser, which organization is the accept by the industries that require appraisals on classic cars? Who does Grundy Ins accept for their records (Hagardy says it isn't needed on their website). I came here because the people here always have the best information, Thanks for your help.

If you want, I can try to put you in touch with a buddy who just went through this and because an appraiser. We've talked but I don't have any real knowledge about the ins and outs.

When I had my appraisal done I was told by the insurance company who was approved by them. None of the approved appraisers were able to come to my house and look at the car. I then found an appraiser who could come out and then had the insurance company let me know if they would accept the appraisal from them.

To me it seemed it is like welding and forklift certifications, the company you are dealing with decides what is certified and what is not and not some school somewhere that is the only acceptable choice.
